Today, my doctor finally prescribed me some medication for my arthritis. The cap was insanely well-secured, and my hands were too racked with pain to get it off. FML

Might I suggest a hammer? OR you could get a child to open it. Those little ******* seem to be the only ones capable of opening those damn child safety caps.

That's really horrible op I'm sorry to hear that

You can always request from your pharmacist to change the bottle/cap your medication is in. No FML, no blaming the doctor, just ask someone to get you an easy open bottle.

Is it one of the push down to turn capsules? If they are, flat palm it open. If its push to the sides, then I'm not sure what would work.

Ask for easy open caps at the pharmacy, I will even open a script for a patient if they can't and change the top so they won't have that problem again

Hence why I stated that SOME medicine bottles have caps that can be turned upside down. I am deeply sorry that you guys are too deprived as to have actually seen such an invention that you think I'm dumb. :) irony.

is anyone calling bullshit? i mean you cant open a bottle but you can certainly type this out?

More the pharmacist who filled the script. Unless it's in the container that the company that makes it supplies it to the pharmacy in. Either case, it wasn't particularly thought through, given what it is. As others have said, OP, take it back to the pharmacy you got it from if you can (when I lived rurally, as is common in NZ, we had all our prescriptions delivered to one of the local stores to pick up). If the case is that you cannot get to your pharmacy, call them, and be sure, either way, to ask them to make a note on your records.
