If you get grounded for something that mundane, I wonder what would happen if you do something like breaking curfew. Your mom should probably be taking discipline lessons from you.

It sounds like your mom says "Language!" a lot to you or other people. As such she probably saw you yelling at the dog barking as an insult at her and grounded you for insulting her indirectly.
