Today, my dogs broke through our electric fence, one of whom managed to get his collar off. I picked it up and, without thinking, went across the fence line. I screamed like a chihuahua being run over by a bulldozer. FML

37- just go to a corner and think about what you said.

What a jerk off. If its on your hand and it hurt that bad imagine how much it hurts around te poor pups neck. If its an absolute must to have can't you just set the shock lower so it won't hurt as bad.

Been there done that. That's the worst thing about hurting yourself.... You have no one else to blame.

How exactly does a chihuahua sound when its being run over by a bulldozer????

I don't know whether to be more disturbed by the fact that you use an electric fence, the fact that you were stupid enough to run through it, or the fact that you know what a chihuahua sounds like when run over by a bulldozer.

Good for ya. Dogs shouldn't get hurt cuz they are stepping out of the yard.

What your saying is we should always let our pets loose. But if we did that they'd take over. >.>

Wo you made a short hi pitch yipe before turning into a little stain?

I know it seems inhumane to shock your dog.. but would you rather find your dog dead on the road.??. if you live by a busy road there's not a whole lot else you can do.

Yeah that happens to my friends dog, so they got a fence like that :

So what you're saying is, without noticing you were holding both electrodes and walked across the line. Then you received a shock that is equivalent to a static shock. Yea that makes sense, maybe next time hold the non metal part. Which is about 95% of the collar.

you don't need to be touching the electrodes.. my dad did the same thing and was holding onto the collar part.. electricity travels...

Umm yes it does. But not through non conductive material, which is what the rest of the collar is. If the collar was wet then that's different but both prongs need to be touched in order for it to conduct. The contact on both completes the circuit causing electricity to travel through whatever completed it. Try touching one prong and hold someone's hand then have them touch the other one. Let me know. That's your science homework for today!

you're a pussy. those things aren't that bad otherwise they wouldn't sell em. I tested the ones I use for my pitbulls and I didn't even flinch
