Today, my ex-boyfriend surprised me with a gorgeous, giant stuffed tiger as a belated birthday gift. I thought it was a lovely gesture until a friend told me she had thrown it in the dumpster behind our building this morning. FML

I think this calls for a follow up. if he was already your ex, or if his actions made him your ex, and what did you do once you found out.

Giving a gift might not be compulsory but respecting the person you love is. I wouldn't suggest breaking the relation but you need to express your disappointment strongly OP. Good luck.
