wow that sucks! maybe you shouldn't have posted the pictures on facebook!!!
Maybe next time you will remember not to post pictures of things that aren’t yet yours. I have tons of photos of the house I currently have an offer on but until escrow is done and the keys are in my hand I am not stupid enough to post photos or tell anyone that address. YDI for having zero common sense. Also, the people that commented about your "one week away from making an offer" – are 100% correct. If you loved the place so much why the hell did you wait. Double YDI for having zero common sense.
this always happens to me. not to that extent. but I showed my friends my prom dress. they ordered it. I show my friends this guy they date him. btw I don't talk to any of these friends anymore because they ended up copying all my art.
What a ******* ****. But, I learned my lesson about oversharing a long time ago. Unless you only have the closest of friends on FB, don't do anything you will regret later on.
It's because you are a woman. Any dude would know that what you did was unforgivably stupid. Let's say there's this girl I like. Would I go plastering my Facebook page with her picture if I planned to ask her out next week? No ******* Way! That would have just urged one of my friends to beat me to the punch. Please show me the pictures of the cute bridge you plan to live under. I'll squat there before you get there;)
Wow, what a scumbag move. You know there was the moment of "great house, I'd love to make an offer... but that's sort of messed up... oh well, **** her."
So up the ante on that ****! Put in your own HIGHER offer. Start a bidding war and bury her! And what the **** were you waiting a week for anyway? And why are you allowing your boss or his/her family to view your personal social networking page online - it is a really bad idea under most circumstances!
GUYS: You can't always instantly make an offer. If you don't know what you're talking about, just stop. It's not the same as getting a prom dress or a significant other. If you don't have 20% to put down, or all of it, you have to secure a loan. The OP was in the market for a house, but probably wasn't sure of their price range. Yea, they probably should have gone to a bank or mortgage company to see what they'd be prequalified for (aka amount of money the bank is willing to give), but they either didn't, or weren't 100% sure about the house. Why would they be a little unsure? 1. Talking it over with family 2. Looking at all finances, this dream home may be more money than they were looking at 3. Putting together a contingent offer -- meaning the seller has things to fix before they will buy the house 4. Maybe the property taxes are out of whack and the house needs to be reassessed. Either way, buying a house is NOTHING like buying random little shit. It is a huge investment. Not everyone has zillions of dollars to throw at a home. I say FYL because it's pretty low of the girl to put in an offer on the house. She clearly knew you and your fiance were interested. I hope you can get in an offer. If not, just keep looking. Something wonderful will come your way :)
