Today, my fiancé's mother tried to arrange a marriage for him to a nice Indian girl, again. We've been engaged for a year, and the wedding is in a month. FML

Arranged marriages are like STDs. You don't want to have one, get one, be involved in any way with them, and when you do get one, you'll probably be stuck with it for life

Greencards, a bigger matchmaker than eHarmony.

I'm with you on that one. One of the customers I deliver to is married to a man she has only met twice, who decided to stay in India. She sends remittances to him and works in Canada, not either of our ideas of the perfect marriage.

I got lucky. My Indian mother-in-law of only 3 months just sent me three, beautiful suits from India. But I hear some can be like this. Fyl...

i love it when asians-whites get married! it feels great to see love rise above racial boundaries! & btw awesome mother in law you got there! :)

I'm Indian. My boyfriend is Russian. My parents response: oh god....

wow there are a lot of really nasty racist comments. its one thing to insult the mother-in-law its another to insult her race. especially since *shocker* her fiance is also Indian.

OP, being the one the in-laws hate sucks. But try not to put him in the middle. Ignore her. Her meddling will eventually push him away. Tell him it saddens you to know she feels that way, but never pressure him to play referee. It's very hard to be torn between your significant other and your family. Just keep in mind he was born to them, but he chose you. Speaking from experience, here.

My friends relationship was ruined this way. Do not let that "Pagal" ruin your life.

I'm glad you weren't forced into marriage either Noor, that would suck. 1 cause you would be taken and 2 because you would have no say in it and that's just wrong

My parents (Indian) have accepted the fact that I'm in love with a white girl....but it's gonna suck when the rest of the family finds out...
