Today, my fiancée broke up with me because I "don't know what I'm doing with my future". I've done four years in the Marines and am in the process of becoming an officer. She has a film degree which she has no interest in, works at the mall, and just moved back in with her dad. FML

you live on a military base? does that mean you are a military spouse? if so then you should know better. Yes being a military girlfriend/wife is incredibly hard and of course there are things they wish they could have sometimes, but they know that it is part of the life they chose with the man they love more than anything else in the world. Military gf/wives are some of the toughest people you will ever meet, as a former Navy girlfriend believe me i would know. and no soldier/sailor/marine puts the military before their wife. they accept their duty to their country and serve all of us, but in reality their wives and families are the most important things to them and are the very reason they want to protect this country. and OP, THANK YOU for serving.
