Today, my friend told me that Otter Box phone cases protect the phone whether it's thrown or just dropped. I disagreed. He then threw his phone across the room into a cement wall to prove it. The phone's screen was completely shattered and now he thinks I owe him a new phone. FML

Buy him a really old flip phone, or perhaps a Nokia and tell him you agree that the Nokia won't break

Well that's idiotic that he thinks you should give him a new phone, he's stupid for thinking that wouldn't crack it, your life sucks Op.

You should explain that he chose to hurl his cellphone into the wall and that you merely disagreed with his logic but didn't command or request him to throw away his phone therefore his actions are his responsibility and simply leave if he persists in blaming you.

I did that. The otterbox was fine. Idk, your friend's must be defective. Otterboxes can take a beating.

Is your friend five years old? I ask because, wah wah I broke my phone and it's your fault because I had to prove you wrong is about how five year olds think on a bad day. If your friend is an adult, and not certified mentally incapable, then you can explain they are responsible for the consequences of their actions. And why not hang around with more sensible people in future?

My old otter box didn't work either. I'd throw it across my room without a case, it'd be just fine. With the case on, I tossed it on my bed, and the LED went out.

they will protect your phone as long as it is screen down when run over by an 18 wheeler. I have seen it happen.

Just because your friend has an IQ below room temperature doesn't mean you owe him a new phone.
