Today, my friend told me that she gave my number to a guy I've liked for a while. I asked why and she just said "He's just going to have to tell you himself." I got hopeful and really nervous. A few hours later he calls. Turns out, he's called to try and get a date with my gay friend. FML

Today, I had a date with a guy. We ran into our gay friend at the theater, who insisted on coming along. My date was pissed, but I couldn't turn our friend away. Afterwards, my date texted our friend, mad because he crashed the date. Turns out he isn't gay. And only crashed it because he likes me. FML

Today, a very pretty girl came up to me and asked me for my phone number. Very pleased, I give it to her with a huge smile and tell her that I can be reached at any time. I then watch her go back to her group of friends. My number was for her gay friend, who then meekly waved at me. FML

Today, I wanted to ask out this cute girl I used to work with. Before I could, she said she likes my only friend there, and asked if could I set them up. Trying to be nice guy and good friend, I did. Then she made her complete lack of interest in me obvious. But hey, at least the gay guy she hung out with thought I was cute. FML

Don't even worry about it. I had a crush on a gay friend of mine a couple years ago before i knew he was gay. We're still good friends and recently I told him about it and now its just a joke between us. Hook him up with your friend :) then you'll have a new gay friend, which are the best.

I call BS on this FML. Why on earth would your friend give your crush your number if your crush wanted to ask your gay friend out? Your friend would have given your gay friend's number to him.

the friend wanted to find a more discrete way to let the OP know that her crush is gay, so she can get over it. rather than letting the OP go confess and get shut down, or having the OP hear about the news from her roommate, and probably not believe her. although, that's assuming the roommate is a nice person. it can also swing the other way where the roommate just want to play a joke on her and laugh her ass off when she sees the OP on the phone.

no, i think the gay friend is a girl, so the guy the OP had a crush on called her, in hopes of getting a date with the lesbian friend, not knowing that the friend who had given the guy the OP's number is gay
