Today, my girlfriend decided we are to the point in our relationship that it's considered acceptable to take a dump while I'm in there showering. FML

"In there" as in in the same room. We just got done eating and I guess something didn't agree with her. I guess this beats the alternative (******** in the floor outside the bathroom). She was kind enough though to flush. I turned my head upside down and let the scolding hot water run into my nose. I feel clean.

Is the dump-taking being done in the bathtub with you? Or are you showering in the toilet? Details, man! We need details!

Take a dump whilst she's in there showering then! It can be a two way thing..

Been with my man over 2 years. We shit, fart, throw up, you name it in front of each other. We're all adults here. Maybe she should pick you up a copy of Everybody Poops.

I'm with OP on this one, it isn't about being able to deny your partner's bodily functions it is purely about privacy - I love my bathroom time because it is about privacy. I'm in a now 3 year long relationship and I was in the room for the delivery of our child ( definitely more gross than taking a poo ) but I still don't share the bathroom unless ABSOLUTELY necessary; also from the post it seems like they never talked about or agreed on whether or not they are comfortable with that arrangement - thats a big factor.

I believe some things should be kept private, such as changing a tampon or pooping, but sometimes you can't help it. Like having one bathroom, if someone is in the shower and the other has to go, you gotta go. I guess the good part is, the shower can drown out sound, you have a curtain and their is or should be some good smelling soap to smell if need be.

Been with my husband for almost 12 years now and I still feel a bit shy when he's in the bathroom with me, but if there's a mile long queue for the toilet (if we're out somewhere) or if there's an emergency then it can't be helped. But if I get to choose, I want to be alone and so does he.

Its a natural part of human life, if you can't deal with it, then perhaps you need to do a little more maturing before deciding to move in with a female or possibly marry one in the future.
