Try to get them back, explain they weren't hers to give away in the first place!
I.. can't.. WHAT?! Kill the bitch. Sorry.
I think from her point of view, the gf probably felt her idea was very superior... And she just didnt know how to step into her boyfriend's shoes... So she was probably too ignorant of the idea.. So from her point of view... She didnt think it was rude... Or anything like that... Some people just dont make decisions appropriately at times or many times you know?
Some comments are pretty harsh (I wouldn't avada kedavra this person) but WHOAH. I would be extremely pissed off if someone did that to me, no matter the book! I really, really hope you can either recover the book... or break up with the girlfriend. Yeah. I'm not too materialistic, but this shows a clear lack of respect. If I had something like this in mind, I would at least have the decency to hide the books, get the Kindle, and see what the BF would say about donating the books... and I would hope for the same courtesy. Lucky for me, my BF is the one with the Kindle and he knows I can't really stomach the stuff (and if I did, I have a Galaxy Note I can always add an app to XD !) .
Why would you even hide the books? Why not just ask about it first and see what the owner wanted to do, instead of screwing around with someone else's belongings?
I hate Harry Potter, but I can honestly say this presumptuous slattern deserves all three Unforgivable Curses at point blank range. I'd probably cry my eyes out if my boyfriend hawked my treasured book collection (along with all my signed copies or books I've had since I was little) and replaced it with some soulless Kindle. Then I'd ram the wretched device so far up his digestive system he'd still be ******** bits of it out after a fortnight.
Find where she donated them and inform the place that the books were stolen, which they were. You can't just take things that don't belong to you, just cus you're dating them. If nothing else, you could contact the police if the place won't return them. And yeah, break up with her. She's clearly an inconsiderate ass to think she has the right to do something like that. I don't care what she threw out. If it's not her's, she shouldn't touch it.
I would kick her in the teeth!!!
I hate to break it to you, but books signed by Harry Potter are frauds, he's a fictional character.
Has it crossed your mind that maybe they could have been signed by the AUTHOR of Harry Potter?
Has It crossed your mind that this is perdix?
Has it ever crossed your brilliant mind that I don't want to do this anymore?
Try explaining to her why what she did was stupid and wrong and why she should never even consider doing it again. If she absolutely can't understand or just refuse to, it's probably a good idea to quit dating her now. If she can downright steal your precious books like that and not think anything about it, you'll never be able to have a trusting relationship with her. Imagine you always having to worry about your own wife throwing away your belongings without asking?
They deserve to be given away if they're Harry potter.

Muggles... What do you expect from them?
WHY do people think it's okay to get rid of things that do not belong to them without the owner's consent?!
