She *cheated on you* because she can't deal with the mild inconveniences of being with an accomplished surgeon?? She throws a hissy fit by sleeping around??? And forget that, she's also so selfish and self-centered that she can't understand somebody placing their *life-saving responsibilities* over a single date??? While knowing it's their turn to be on-call?? She's a shallow, pitiful excuse for a woman then. Dump her. In a ditch. With a kidney or a liver missing. And right afterwards, when she's in the emergency room and needs a surgeon, tell her you can't make it because you're on a date.

My parents are doctors and when I lived at home, it always seemed if they weren't working, they were on call and got called in to work. Sucks for you OP, maybe you can be lucky enough to date another doctor. Since you both will understand each other's work situations and relate to each other better.

AGH I know im posting again but this level of petty selfishness just makes me so angry! Seriously OP DON'T try to work things out, they CAN'T be worked out with such a petty, selfish human being. DROP HER. AND NEVER TAKE HER BACK. There are good, wholesome people out there who will be worth your time and will be loving, caring and able to GIVE something to the relationship instead of just LEECHING OFF your time, love and resources with the level of abandon that this excuse for a human being has. She's a black hole, a shell of a person, who feeds off of their partner's mental, emotional and financial health because she doesn't know what it takes and what it means to give instead of taking. DROP. HER.
