Today, my girlfriend texted me saying, "I have some Durex and want your help" so I rushed to her house. She had meant to say "Dulux". I had to help her paint her bedroom. FML

What could he possibly even ask? Even if there was anything for him to ask he could have wanted to ask about it when he went into her house. How is he a jackass for actually trusting his girlfriend by not assuming she was lying or that she made a mistake?

It's entirely possible that the girl just made a typo or assumed he won't help her regardless of whether he would under normal circumstances. Even if the OP usually refuses to help her he shouldn't be forced to help her if he doesn't want to/didn't promise to do so. If she has a problem with him not helping her she can actually speak to him about it and ask him to be more cooperative or find someone who actually wants to help her instead of manipulating him,lying to him and forcing him to do what she wants by manipulation/force/etc.
