Today, my girlfriend told me she lost her phone and not to call or text her. After about three hours, I text her phone, asking if she found it yet. I got a reply, saying "Nope." FML

Today, My girlfriend and I were watching tv when suddenly one of our phones start going off. We both have the same phone and they were next to each other. She picks up the phone and reads the text message, "I wish you were here! I'd fuck you silly" She gets pissed and runs out. It was her phone. FML

Could have been a stranger who had picked up the phone, not knowing what to say to a random stranger and thinking a vaguely witty 'Nope!' would be the best way to solve the situation and to, sort of, be helpful? Optimistic, but I'll be the first to put it out there.

This reminds of a story I heard. A man lost his brand new iPhone and just to see if someone found it, he called it. A man answers and says, 'Yes, I have found your phone'. 'Can we meet so I can get it back?' 'Hell no, I was planning on getting one of these and now I got it for free...' Click! I think someone found it and texted back just for fun.

You all need to get off your high horses. i love how so many of you are calling the OP a "dumbass" because "its obvious that blah blah blah". if its so obvious why do we have a good 20 different theories? lmao Or is everyone but on here but "you" a dumbass? lmao I think the impression he got is that his girl friend lied to him and is apparently very stupid. If he's right, that does kinda suck. Who knows. Also to everyone saying he's stupid for texting, its his girlfriend. its obviously not a good sing if she doesn't want him to text her for some reason. Because if your significant other told you not to call/text them based on a sketchy reason, that'd be totally cool with you? He's only human. Besides, based off of the reason she gave, texting her did no harm even if she had lost the phone, it was just futile.
