Hey guys OP here. To answer some questions, yes I have told my grandmother various times that I have a retainer, and that it looks like packaging and to not throw it away. I do keep it in a plastic case but I only wear it at night so when I am out shopping for her or walking her animals she snoops in my stuff. I have tried keeping it in my room to keep away from her but the door always "accidentally" opens and her animals find it and play with it because animals like the saliva taste on the retainer, it is then she thinks it's packaging and throws it away.

Put it away and she won't find it laying around. I doubt she did through drawers looking for garbage.
Put it in a case whenever it's not in your mouth and this won't happen. Why would you want to leave it lying around all the time anyway? That's pretty disgusting.
If this has happened before, why do you keep leaving it out where she will see it and potentially throw it away? Retainers usually come with a case. Use it.
Read above, she DOES put it in a case.Grandma is nosey and keeps going in her room.
Get a solid colored case for it, so it can't be thrown out for looking like plastic wrap.
while that really does suck, I can't help but wonder why you don't keep it in a place where she can't find it. three times? really?
Time to start wearing it in your mouth then! Duh. And if you need to remove it, put it in a retainer case. Keeps it clean too.
I would stop leaving it where she can find it to throw it out, especially if this is the third time. It goes either in your mouth or the container your orthodontist gave you when you got it. Sorry, OP, but YDI...
That sucks OP but if she has done it 2xs previously then you should have learned to put ot away some where she isnt going to come across it. Sorry it happened though.
Leave it in its case when it's not in your mouth... Problem solved.

Time to find a good hiding spot for those retainers!
That'll take a bite out of your budget.
