Today, my house was robbed while I was at work. The robber left a note telling me my stuff was crappy and that they found my safe under the bed. FML

Keep that my note and show it to the police, their handwriting can be helpful in capturing them.

Hopefully, the robber's stealth was crappy and the cops will be able to find some clues to find him.

Suggestion from a locksmith here: Keep it hidden and bolted to the floor. Don't be cheap about your safe either. Spend atleast 200-300 dollars for a non-electric safe.

What was in the safe, and if it was money then how much?

Well at least you know what's stolen...that's a good thing right? SDB are a better way of keeping things under wraps...can't be stolen

Sounds like you were Burglarized not robbed. Getting robbed is when someone takes your belongings by intimidation or force. Keep your savings in a bank, sorry bout your luck

Burgled* ... Wtf is burglarized? Where did you even get that?

Thank you. It bothers me so very much when people confuse the two.

Are you sure someone in your life who is close to you wasn't trying to teach you a lesson? After all, since when do robbers leave notes?

Hopefully the safe in question was not a gun safe.

Time to go buy the at home detective kit now

I guess you could say that the burglar was robbed of an opportunity

Hopefully you touched nothing so you don't contaminate the crime scene there should be visible sign of forced entry and finger prints on the paper. There will be shoe prints that the police can search a database of those shoes. Remember every criminal leaves behind some evidence so call the police if you haven't done so already

You watch too many crime show. The truth is even with fingerprints they can't to shit. They need something to compare them to.

That's why they run them through the computer system. They fingerprint people when they're charged for this exact reason, to compare prints from a scene to a criminal
