Today, my husband and I went to marriage counselling. I confessed something that was bothering me, but he didn't understand. Our counselor repeated word-for-word what I said right back at him. He turned to me angrily and shouted, "Why couldn't you just say that the first time?!" FML

I think you two need marriage counselling.

I see this type of thing daily between my dad and stepma.. Sorry about that OP. I hope your marriage gets better.

This is the same thing that happened to me when my husband and I went to marriage counseling. I had been telling him the same thing for years but when we pay someone else to say it, it actually makes sense now......

I've seen this a lot in couples. It may be the tone in which you are speaking. When you speak your point in a more calm manner, he may actually hear you. No one wants to listen to someone who's speaking to them like they're being scolded.

If they are seeing a marriage councilor... he deserves it. Sorry.

What was it you confessed? If it was something big, he might not have known how to handle it and it may have took a while for whatever you confessed to sink in upon which he panicked and didn't know how to react

If this wasn't in Spain I'd swear you were my parents.
