Today, my husband decided to be helpful and do all the laundry, including pre-treating all the stains. He felt that Clorox Clean-Up with Bleach would be the most effective. FML

He thought that the stuff that has bleach in it-Bleach?- would be most effective to help you? Automatic Facepalm!

He was feigning incompetence in order to avoid having to do laundry again in the future. People do it all the time in order to escape a job they don't want to do. If someone fails spectacularly at a task the first time, they dramatically increased the odds they will not be asked to do said task in the future.

This. Make him pay for all the ruined clothing and THEN make him do the laundry again. The correct way, or else you'll have to slap a dick!

"Make him pay" --> "You are married, so 'punishing' him monetarily hurts both of you" Fixed that for ya. First one's free.

@108: Not if the couple has separate bank accounts. It's not uncommon to have a joint account for bills and such, and separate accounts for each person's dispensable income. Make him pay for it out of his personal spending money. Besides, I've never pre-treated a stain in my life and I know better than to go spraying bleach on everything. There's no excuse for living under a rock.

Haha, well, you can separate the money however you want, but if you're married, living in the same house, paying the same bills, eating the same groceries... It's a pretty empty attempt at maintaining individuality / freedom / whatever. You shouldn't get married if you aren't willing to give those things up to a degree, anyway. All that to say: trying to punish your spouse using money is bad advice.

Not good enough? How about sexist and racist? It's a Chinese woman's job.

Who cares? It's just some clothes. spend some time with your husband as you teach him how to properly wash clothes.

Oh stop complaining =O At least he WANTED to help.

Oooh, FYL for SURE! That happened to me once years ago when I had a crap job and few nice clothes. My roommate bleached my work clothes. I can just remember looking into the washing machine and thinking, I could become homeless because of this. If I lose my job because I have no clothes to wear to it, it's a short jump from there to life in my car. :) Thank God it didn't turn out that way!

FYL, your husband is too stupid to RTFM on the bottle. That's what you get when you marry someone who has never lived alone though...
