Today, my kitchen is flooded, and according to my landlord, this is normal, because it rained last night. Funny, I thought the purpose of a roof was to stop water from getting in. Guess I was wrong. Silly me. FML

I feel your pain, OP. I was on holiday to southern France back in 2004 and there was a rather mean thunderstorm brewing up, and a couple of leaks had sprung in the roof, causing my father to put buckets underneath the affected areas.
