Today, my landlord told me he is raising my rent next month. I thought he was kidding until he asked if I still wanted to live here. My landlord is also my live-in boyfriend. FML

Perhaps he is trying to hint something...

I think he's hinting towards a breakup, my dear.

He gotta get money from somewhere to pamper you. Circle of life is a bitch.

maybe start doing him more "favors" and he'll lower the rent instead of raising it

That's what you get for not putting out.

You can't make a "That's what she said." joke about a comment that is meant to be sexual...

Oh, damn... Good luck with that.

My landlord is also my live-in boyfriend? Does this mean you have an outter boyfriend? lol

No, she means they live together. Most likely, she rents the apartment and he just lives with her.

sounds like you're his live-in girlfriend, actually.

Well, no. If her name is on the lease and he's living with her, he would be the "live-in" in this relationship.

whoop his ass and train that dog girl!

Yes, beat the dog that owns your house. That'll do it!! cx

"Train that dog"... I can't tell if you're just joking or if you seriously think men should be trained like canines. I seriously hope it is not the latter of the two guesses.

He is her landlord. Rent goes up almost every time you renew. A FAQ is do you still want to live here. Quit reading into things. If you want to break up do it but don't make a dumb excuse to do so

Pay it and tell him it's his birthday present. Then after that steal his money, move out and dump him over text. Problem solved
