Today, my mom asked me to help pick out clothes for my grandma to wear in her casket. I didn't know she'd died. FML

What we have here is a failure to communicate

Death is not important but clothes are? Yes that makes perfect sense.

I guess nothing's going to clear up your douchiness, 54.

Sounds like my Mum; expects us to know everything she knows due to some sort of telepathy or something.

I am very sorry for your loss, and that you had to find out that way. I send the best of wishes to you and your family.

When close family dies sometimes a lot of wires get crossed. Op could come from a very close family and because of the emotional toll it takes for the person who is in charge of making the calls somehow she was missed. Not really anyone's fault just the sad sorry truth of the way people's brains get fried after a death. Sorry for your loss.

My mum did same with me, I was 16 and still in shock. We decided to put her in a lovely cream and red cardigan. Mums friend did her hair and makeup and when she went to coffin i put in her purse, never without it and a drawing I did years ago and kissed her goodbye.... Love ya nanny ;-(
