Today, my mom decided she wants to try a new family bonding experiment: Being naked around the house for an entire week. She wants us all to eat dinner, watch tv, etc. completely naked. She says she will ground me and my siblings if we don't try it. FML

"I'll take the grounding, thanks. I think our bond is as strong as it needs to be."

Is there someone you can talk to about this? I mean, it'd be one thing if the whole family was totally cool with this, but to force your kids into becoming a nudist, grounding those who don't want to sounds...lack for a better word, abusive.

You should all refuse and let her know loud and clear that she is crossing a serious line. If she grounds you, every grounded kid should be nice to each other and utterly shut her out.

Call Child services your mother maybe suffering some kid of mental breakdown

Talk to a counselor at school or another adult you trust. Child Protective Services will definitely know this is not ok.

Sounds like mental scars and therapy to me. Tell someone. Something the family agrees to is one thing but force is not any where near okay with something like that.

Forcing is just wrong but too bad they aren’t more receptive to it. If everyone was on board it could actually work and most people find it helps them get over body insecurities too.

That's awesome that your mom wants to try something new and the family should support her in this. Their is nothing wrong with nudity. In many culturs nudity is not an issue.
