Today, my mom got a cat. I'm allergic to cats, so I politely asked my mom why she got it. Her response: "I want you to finally want to move out." I turned eighteen two weeks ago. FML

Today, to celebrate moving into a new apartment, my girlfriend decided she would get a kitten. She didn't know I'm allergic to cats. When I told her, she decided that she couldn't date someone who couldn't be around her cat; the one she doesn't have yet. FML

42 - how old were you when you moved out? If it was any older than 18 you really need to back off. Otherwise, maybe the law should have been 14 in your case so they could kick you out sooner. Don't judge!

I was 18, because I wasn't going to college right away, I joined the military and moved out a month after high school graduation. If the kid has no plans at 18, he will just need to get a push.

Just because you arent severely allergic to animals doesnt mean its not possible. My mother goes into anaphylactic shock if she gets near cats or their dander.
