To everyone judging the OP for having sex 1) Get off your high horse. You don't know if she's 15, 24 or what her situation is. Just because you choose to wait right now doesn't mean everyone else will. Also, it doesn't mean you will not change your mind in the future. 2) We can all play Monday Morning Quarterback. The city of New Orleans could have had its levies fixed. All those foreclosed people could have bought cheaper homes or continued to rent. But they didn't. Telling her she should have waited doesn't negate the problem.
You know, I'm not going to judge the OP for having sex. I have sex, and I'm not married. I'm not going to judge her for getting pregnant, either. It's not such a big deal anymore for someone to get pregnant outside of marriage. I AM, however, going to judge the OP for being in a situation where they have to awkwardly explain to a parent that they are pregnant. That implies that they are still dependant on the parent for support and are not in a position to adequately support themselves. If that is the case, they should NOT be having sex and getting pregnant. Accidents happen, yes, and that is EXACTLY why you should refrain from ANY activity that might result in an accident that you do not have the means to get through. If the OP is still having to go to the doctor for check-ups with her mother, that is a clear sign that she is dependant on her parents, and should not have even begun to put herself in the position where she might get pregnant. This is not me saying sex before marriage is wrong. This is not me even saying that having sex as a teenager is necessarily wrong, and it definitely isn't me saying that getting pregnant without being married is wrong. It is me saying that having sex and getting pregnant without having the means to support a child is cruel, thoughtless, and completely selfish.
Capt. The akward thing does not exactly imply they still ned the support. It may mean their mom is nuts, and they're scared of them being angry. Or it could mean that the mother is not wanting to let go and see her child as an adult. And my grandma went on dr's visits with my mom when she was 25~30 years old. She didn't live at home then. I'm not trying to be mean, just offer the alternatives.
Yeah, your life sucks, but congrets anyway xD
This isn't necessarily a teen. I'm 28, have been married for five years, and this FML could still happen to me. I've got health issues that would make a pregnancy VERY bad news. I can't drive due to those issues, so my mom takes me to appointments all the time. She'd love to be a grandma, but knows it can't happen. Yet if it did, and she reacted with horror, I'd be seriously bummed because her emotional support is important to me.
I see where you are coming from but how the heck easy do you believe telling people about that is? rape can be physically and emotionally damaging.
With all due respect #144, you're talking out of your rear-end. You wonder why some women don't report their rapes? The crappy legal system is partly to blame. The rapists spend a few years in jail and get released to commit more heinous crimes.
#106, where has that been proven? I'm thinking you're just pulling shit out of your ass here.
