Tell her each text costs money. She'll clam right up.
Heard this one already. Yes moms are annoying with phones and pretty much communication in general.... Next!
I taught my grandmother to text and that's all she would ever do. Then, I made the mistake of teaching her how to use Facebook and NOW.. when she wants to talk to me, my phone dings because she's sent me a message on Facebook instead of just calling or texting. "Older people" are funny like that. :) They think that it's so cool that they've learned something "all the kids these days" do. My papa has had a phone for years and I just recently had to teach him how to set-up/check his voicemail and he said to make it simple that I had to set the password as 0000. So, I definitely feel where you are coming from on that one OP. It'll get better. I promise :)
x) That is hysterical.
YDI for teaching her how to use the device without discussing appropriate etiquette. Do everyone a favor and forward her a few online articles about asynchronous communication, normal expectations and text / email etiquette.
