well, one, **** him. he can learn to cook for himself. two, your mom (and apparently, your boyfriend) don't get there's a lot more to a person than how well they can cook? And therefore there should be more to a relationship and a marriage? Sorry they're both asshats.
all women should know how to cook.
You should know how to cook. Feeding YOURSELF good food is important. Screw everyone else, do it for yourself. Relationships come and go, food is forever.
I can relate OP. my grandmother told me "no man will want you if you don't learn to cook well." I was in high school and declined the invite to watch her cook dinner and learn the recipe.
Tell him that if he wants servants, he should make more money to hire some.
Honestly **** THEM
If you can't make rice, boil water to make pasta or throw chicken, fish or pork in a pan to make dinner then yes you can't cook and will live out of a take out menu. But if you can do those thing and your boyfriend can also and he doesn't like your cooking tell him to cook his own food like most adults do or the 2 of you take cooking classes together. I think doing stuff together will make your relationship better and if you like it enough you can make a career change. Or just play your own version of chopped as you home
Maybe this is a good thing!

That is so sexist. If you want to learn how to cook then learn but if you're not interested then that's fine too. I took cooking classes before going to college since I refused to live off ramen. It's good skills to have but doesn't mean you need to use them every day. Married now and I cook few times per week and take turns with my husband making meals.
Well I see two people you could probably chop out of your life. Spa-ghett out of there.
