Actually, 89, it does. Crappy dye you buy in stores doesn't dye your hair. It just paints over it. Professional hair dye actually goes into the hair. It's much healthier for it. As well, you never know what color your hair will turn if you're trying to make a change to it. OP's mom just needs to use a blue toner to help get the orange out.
