Today, my mother bitched me out for not finishing my laundry. I'm a 37-year-old mother of three. She rents my basement suite. FML

Gremlinswife tells us more.

I charge them rent but also pay them to babysit. They have a pretty sweet deal. My Husband works out of province i'm essentially a single mother 2 week of each month and my youngest son has special needs. Laundry is very low on my list of things to do in my kids waking hours lol

How dare you piss your lazy mother off!! You should have just finished your laundry.

In a way, you're her landlord. You have the power to increase her rent or kick her out. If she's being bitchy over little things that aren't her business, she isn't being a good example to your kids anyway.

Watch your words lady, when you are your mothers age. You will still be suggesting and telling your children what to do.. It's called guidance.. Your children will always be your children no matter of their age.. Now go do your freaken laundry lol.. Mothers always always know best ;) hugs

Guidance and bitching out are two different things.

Children always being your children is a good reason for: 1. Loving them. 2. Worrying about them. 3. Lending a hand during troubled times. It is NOT a good reason to tell your grown daughter to "finish her laundry". WTF does that even mean? Did the OP not fold it and put it away? Does she still have one more load to do, but stopped to pick the kids up/make dinner/take a break? Someone being your parent doesn't mean they continue to make all your life decisions for you after your formative years are over.

Yes, but she shouldn't be telling her daughter to do laundry, especially since her daughter is her landlord. I think the quote that applies here would be 'Respect others and you will receive respect.'

Who could blame you? Does anyone actually WANT to finish doing the laundry? Besides, it's about time your children start doing all your work while you kick up your feet on a big ol' recliner.

"she rents my basement suite" well, theres your problem

Maybe at 37 you should be finishing your laundry and not on FML...

Remember kids! No having fun after... well, whatever arbitrary age kids have decided is too old for fun.

Maybe you should stop trying to prove yourself on FML and get a life elsewhere.

At first I was gonna say that it's her time of the month, but if you're 37 and she is your mom then she is probably pretty old and has therefore hit menopause. So in this case I guess she's just a bitch!
