For the record, my parents are in a band and when I was a kid (now 20) I found it very hard to sleep in a quiet room because I was so used to being put down right by some massive speakers. And I grew up perfectly fine. So basically what I'm saying is your Mum is full of shit, FYL!

Congratulations on parenting done right, OP. I'm getting my little cousins into kpop at the moment, my brother likes jrock, and one of my cousins like bvb. Does my dad think that An Cafe is gothic? Yes. Did my grandma lecture me to pray for my soul and stop listening to "Satan's music"? Yes. Did I ignore them and proceed to dance to my music while they stared in horror? Most definitely. (yes I know I didn't list metal bands. my point is for OP to not let her mother control how she raises her kid)

I had a similar problem. I actually grew up listening to Metallica and Slayer thanks to my uncle, who was in a band and basically introduced me to metal at the age of 3. My sister is my complete opposite and she HATES the music I listen to; and now she's constantly arguing with me because it's "my fault" her four year old won't stop singing Lamb of God. My nephew is awesome m/ and so it's your kid OP!
