Today, my mother still refuses to acknowledge my son as her grandson, all because I had a C-section, which she says is unnatural and against God's will. I only had the C-section in the first place for health reasons. FML

How dare you be careful with your own life?! That's not gods will! In all seriousness though, do you really want a crazy, over-zealously religious woman like that be near your son? Be thankful, maybe?

Maybe that wasn't an option 2000 years ago. Neither was half the stuff she owns.

Actually, Cesarean section surgery was probably around during or shortly after Christ's lifetime. You can tell her that, or you can thank God that she's got such a serious case of rectal-cranial inversion, thereby sparing your son such a lifelong horror.

She is sick, move on and don't let her poison your son with her mind games.

Congratulations on the new baby! What you did WAS natural. You said health reasons, so I assume either you or your baby were in trouble (maybe both), so what you did was right. It's normal and your mother needs to understand that a vaginal birth isn't always possible. You still carried your child and he's no different than any baby who could be delivered 'naturally'.

How dumb, sorry they'll probably come around after some guilt sets in. What about no judging and forgiveness

That's awful. I am so sorry. Either s natural birth of a c-section is still giving birth and your mother sounds like such a rude and horrible women.

That's genuinely disgusting of your mother. Same old " if she easily ignored you you obviously don't mean that much to her" kind of advice, just ignore her. Sorry to say but your mother seems to care way more about God than her family.

Sounds like the Disciples of the New Dawn satire on C-section... But OP, if your mom really is that crazy I feel bad for you!

It might be painful to head, but you, and your son are better off without her.
