Today, my mother still refuses to acknowledge my son as her grandson, all because I had a C-section, which she says is unnatural and against God's will. I only had the C-section in the first place for health reasons. FML

How dare you be careful with your own life?! That's not gods will! In all seriousness though, do you really want a crazy, over-zealously religious woman like that be near your son? Be thankful, maybe?

Maybe that wasn't an option 2000 years ago. Neither was half the stuff she owns.

Tell her she is going against God's will by how she treats others. God did not say you could not have surgery just like he did not tell her she could get her hair cut.

what the hell is wrong with people i know damn straight that if anyone especially my mother or father said something like that i would hit them so far into next year they wouldnt see it coming

That's the most bullshit reason I ever heard for not acknowledging a child. There's no way that the C-section is her real reason.

Show me anywhere that it says "And God said: women can't have c sections, it's gross" I hate when shitty Christians make all of us look bad with their ignorance.

Actually your child was still "born from a woman's womb" he is still a child "of God"

Lol where in the bible does it say you can't get a c section? She's just stupid, sorry OP

I was a C-section baby. I was too big and two weeks overdue. Thing is, c-section existed for centuries, some women can't give natural birth and this is a way to bring more life into the world. God's will is basically to have all life and if c-sections help bring life then that is his will

I'm really sorry for you, OP, that must hurt terribly! There's no excuse in the world for not acknowledging one's child or grandchild. Don't let her self-centered, ignorant bigotry get to you, but for the child's sake, give her a chance if she comes to her senses.

So I'm guessing she would have preferred you died in childbirth. Time to cut ties.

So your mother believes in a god whose will is to possibly endanger the lives of a woman and her infant son? Do you really want her to call him her grandson?
