So why didn't you get them out the trash?
I knew there'd be somebody saying "you shouldn't leave stuff on the couch" 2nd comment i see says that with over 100 likes...
Yeah, and?
I put paper towel on mine because there wasn't any padding
Those must have been pretty shitty headphones if you needed duct tape to protect the wires. I mean come on, I am very hard on my mediocre quality headphones and have never damaged the wires.
Redneck way = duct tape Uber redneck way= duct tape and beer cans and straws
I think it depends on what kind of headphones. I have a nice 10 dollar pair. or they could have been expensive ass Beats. But along with what others have said she shouldn't have thrown them away.
Maybe she saw the duct tape and thought you were in need of a new pair. Maybe she's going out to get them tomorrow to surprise you.
What the hell is op
Time to throw away her jewelry
Looks like it's time to make her buy new ones.

Why do people assume it's okay to just throw things out without asking? I hope she buys you new ones, OP.
Did you respond to her with "YOU'RE old, broken, and cheap!"?
