Today, my mother told my little sister and me that she has breast cancer to make us feel sorry so that we would clean our rooms. She is perfectly fine. My little sister still thinks that "mommy is going to die". FML

Today, my mother called me and told me that she went to the hospital. This wasn't a surprise 'cos she normally goes to the hospital for the smallest things. I was a smartass and asked, "What now? You finally have lung cancer from all those cigarettes?" Apparently, she does. FML

Today, I visited my ex-girlfriend's house. I saw her mother and asked, "Hi! Have you recovered from that nasty cold that you had for so long?" She said, "I don't have a cold," to which I smiled and said, "That's great to hear!" Turns out she has lung cancer instead. FML

Today, my friend (she's 14) said she had lung cancer. This made me and my other friend very worried for her, but now we know she was faking it since when she was "at the hospital" she was at a friend's house, and her mom came to the school to confirm she was faking the whole thing. FML

Today, I found out that the giant tumour on my leg isn’t cancerous or dangerous. My mom cried, and I was super relieved. Later on, I heard her on the phone in tears because now she won’t be able to get a free vacation or home renovations from the Make A Wish foundation. FML

Today, I told my mother I was doing fine with my classes when I actually wasn't because her mother is dying, and I didn't want her to have more things to stress about. She found out and she's very hurt. I feel awful about it and I know lying wasn't the right thing to do, but in the moment I didn't want to cause her any more pain. FML

Well, than that should tell you something... like how to be responsible... if you don't have the willingness to clean up 1 room that has your stuff in it, than you have almost no hope for the future if you're rooming or have your own home and family. I always make my kids clean their room and my 2 older kids (16 and 8) are old enough to know and do without thinking and my youngest (4) is learning. As a parent, I know how your mom feels, it's no fun having your kids not listen to you when you want them to clean their room or do chores, it's not asking a lot. I feel more for your mother, if kids would just listen, than we wouldn't have to manipulate or bribe, and parents don't always like to bribe. I don't blame your mother at all for manipulating you. Grow up a start pulling your own weight. A clean home is a happy home.

If your kids don't do what you expect of them you punish them YOU DON'T TELL THEM YOU HAVE CANCER!! All kids ignore their parents but if your kids are so bad you have to tell them you're DYING to get them to do stuff you have failed as a parent! How anyone can feel sorry for the mother here is beyond me!

Breast Cancer is no joke. Also does anyone else find it strange that the kids first thought after she told them that was to clean their room? If it were me I would have cried not cleaned.
