If the place is under your name, you do have the option to kick her out. I understand your pain since I also work in the hospital and I work both day and night shifts.
I feel your pain OP. F Our Lives.
The graveyard shift is hard to adjust to for everyone in the house- my husband recently started working that shift at a prison. Myself and my roommate are not annoyed by it though... That's so selfish. Your roommate should be more understanding. If you don't handle a shift like that correctly, you could end up with Shift Work Sleep Disorder. Keep working hard and disregard her rude comments OP!
Oh my god, I have no sympathies with anyone who would wake someone up to bitch about ANYTHING. A short while ago, I had to travel with a group to the other end of the country for a qualifier which could have been a great opportunity. Since it was such a long journey, we were staying overnight and I was in a room with a girl I know and another who we'd only me through the process. I was more than slightly worried about the whole thing as I sleep terribly; it can take me hours to get to sleep and I often find myself awakening at stupid times such as 3am, 5am, when it becomes impossible for me to get back to sleep before it's time to wake up. By some miracle, I managed to get lucky and fall asleep relatively early, however, since apparently I snore a little (I don't know how much; if I ever went to the extend of trying to record it, I wouldn't be able to get to sleep for worrying about the recording) the two other girls in the room decided to wake me up by throwing those little packets of UHT milk from the morning supplies at me. Eventually, I woke up whilst they were giggling with these little packets of milk everywhere. Needless to say, I was more than lsightly angry about the whole experience, especially as I then only got another half-hour of sleep, tops as the girl we'd just met recently kept calling her drunk boyfriend on speakerphone. Since my stress tends to peak when I'm tired and irritated, I then failed the qualifier the next day and basically, the whole experience sucked so much that I'm now going to go and retroactively post it as an FML. Whoa. That was long. TL;DR? (A while ago), I managed to fall asleep in a travel hotel despite being a bad sleeper, only to have the two other girls in the room throw packets of UHT milk at me until I woke up. I then spent the rest of the night starkly awake whilst one of them repeatedly called her drunk boyfriend on speaker, FML.
Find a new room mate
Kick her out.
Did you guys not discuss this at all before moving in together, or before you got that job?
You should wake her up after getting off work. And complain how her being asleep keeps you from having people over.

Take your roommate to the graveyard & bury her.
That's so rude of her, not everyone is on the same sleep schedule.
