Sounds like she loved your dog and wanted to honor its memory. You should be flattered.
I lost my Jack Russell Terrier named Frisky 3 yrs ago, and my friend got a JRT and named it Frisky last year, and at first I was torn, but than learned from my kid that my friend wanted to honor my dog as he loved her as much as I did. Outlook changed, and today I love that dog as much as I did mine
Doesn’t sound like much of a best friend
What is with all these YDI votes on this site today, for things OP most definitely doesn't deserve? Losing a pet is a very sad, emotional experience. Then if your "friend" gets the exact same type of pet and gives it the same name, it'll just bring all those depressed feelings to the surface. Maybe the friend wants to honor the pet. That's okay, I get it. But perhaps it should have been discussed with OP first.
