Today, my oven decided that it was going to lock and clean itself right in the middle of cooking my steaks. FML

Soap steak? Self-cleaning ovens (at least, all those I'm aware of) don't clean themselves with any kind of detergent, or water, or any of that. Very simply, the self cleaning cycle turns on the heating elements full blast for several hours, incinerating anything in/on the inside. They automatically lock during this process, to avoid some idiot opening the door and touching something that will incinerate his skin.
