Hard out here for a pimp
Only working 6 days a week? I don't blame your parents, clearly you should be working all 7..
if your triple shifting how do you even go home? other than your one day off
Hopefully some friends can help out!!! Maybe you could find somewhere cheap to live? I dunno, I really wish you the best of luck OP! I rent a room, it's cheap and I help pay for what I use and food, it's a cheap way to live for me as I'm a student. Maybe you could rent a room/flat share? For £300 a month I have a room and that £300 pays for the bills as well such as electric, gas and wifi. I'm lucky that it's furnished as well and any other furniture I needed (a desk for my PC for college work) I got from a FreeCycle website. I don't know if what I've written here will help, but it's just an idea :) My flatmate doesn't mind that I'm not in a lot either, I do a lot of extra curricular work with the college (student association, LGBT and equality/diversity officer) so when I am in I'm in my room working or sleeping, thankfully my flatmate is understanding.
Those prices don't exist in the US.
£300 is about $600-$700 (don't quote me on that. It's been a while since I looked at the exchange rate). Those prices do exist in the US. Especially for single room in a shared apartment.
I'm in the same sort of boat, OP. I work the night shift and live with my parents for now because I can't afford to live on my own with my current job. They're constantly angry with me because I sleep late (again, I work the night shift) and I sit around a lot at home (my job is physical and I'm exhausted all the time). **** 'em, they've either forgotten or never knew what it's like to have an unconventional job situation.
I totally understand you. I work the night shift as well, though I don't live with my parents I do share a house with my sister (yes we own not rent). My mother and step father (who live next door) are always like "you went to bed at 8am and up at 4pm? Are you mental get more sleep! Be outside don't lift that I'll do it!" And stuff like that. Whereas my father and step mother are the complete opposite. Where they would want to hang out or have a chore for me at like noon and I am asleep so don't respond to them and they call me lazy. Speaking of which I really need to go to sleep now.
They didn't give you some sort of warning first? Like, help out around the house or you're leaving...instead of just throwing you out?
this sounds exactly like my mom ugh
