Were you paying rent with all that money you're making?
your parents are dicks. hope you can catch a break and get some rest wherever you end up
Then what's the problem? Clearly you can afford an apartment.
My family has an issue with me sleeping all day when I'm home too. In my case it's just my depression and social anxiety knocking me out so I can recharge after a week in a call centre with people yelling at me all day.
I totally understand. I think we're kind of in the same boat. I've been off my anti-deps for a few months (not my choice) and all I want to do is lay in bed. Like I don't want to move hardly. And my family knows the whole situation, how bad I was and everything and still I get the, "Well I worked ____ hours today, what did you do?" It's annoying! Especially because when I do have good days and feel like getting up I help out but dealing with them being judgmental is exhausting, and just trying to live life is exhausting. The depression/anxiety struggle is real.
I had to deal with this shit too. I was working 2 part time jobs, one as a shift manager at a pizza restaurant, the other as a cashier at an electronics store, and a third job that was a freelance animator with my own hours, all while going to school part time. I was home for about 8 hours a day, 2-3 hours of which I spent working on my animation job, and the remaining I spent sleeping. My stepmom lost her shit saying I was lazy and freeloading and that I left the kitchen a mess (despite not being home often enough to ever use the kitchen) and then she argued with my dad who then kicked me out. The reason why I worked so much was that I was trying to save up for transferring to a 4 year university because my parents couldn't afford to help with tuition. Now I live on my own, still work a ton, but can't afford school because rent.
Poverty
That sucks, OP. I recently got kicked out of my mothers house, so I am living with my father now, since I am only 17. I got kicked out for an argument we had. She's usually drunk and she rarely ever has food in the house and she is always mistreating me and my little sister so I finally got fed up with hearing my sister cry every night because of it and I went off on her. Now I'm really worried about my sister being there alone but my mother won't let her leave. It's a tough situation.
Could you perhaps try and get your dad to claim custody of your sister? Or is he not her biological father?
A shift is 8 hours, 3x8=24, your trying to say you don't sleep for 6 days!?
Sometimes shifts can be 4 or even 6 hours long instead, making it a maximum of 18 hours if so, if not then 12 hours. This is in England though, so I can't know about the US. Generally companies make shifts as long as they can without having to give a break. The amount of time working without a break used to be a maximum of 4 hours in England and is now 6 hours so the workplaces create shifts accordingly.
I'm sorry OP
