Today, my parents finally got married. At the after-party, my mother got drunk and informed me that even though she and my father were now married, it doesn't change the fact that I'm still a bastard. FML

From a fellow bastard, you are not alone OP, you are not alone.

Well technically it doesn't. Not your fault OP.

I guess it all depends on HOW she said it.

They still love you and were able to raise you, being a bastard shouldnt matter

OP, you DO know that a bastard is just a child born out of wedlock, right?

This is true but I think the mother was calling him a bastard of the other sort.

I would have responded "it doesn't change the fact you're still a <insert derogatory term for loose woman> either".

What does that have to do with anything?

And that my friend is a perfect excuse to have a speech that will really embarrass her

I don't understand what the big deal is with being a bastard. It's perfectly fine in my book.

Bastard: Child born to an unwed mother. You OP are a bastard in that sense. Idk what kind of person you are, but I wouldn't take that too hard. You still have "loving" parents that are wanting to keep your family together.
