Weird! 1)Most companies let you keep your old number free of charge. 2) Changing companies generally takes 10 to 30 days, and give the new number on the day you descide for the new company. All in all a strange story, I'n notbuying it.

why did you even submit 15 applications? if the hiring staff find that out they'll turn you away anyway.
