That's not normal, OP. Go see a gynocologist, you might have a myoma; it's a benign growth but it's not a very nice one to experience.

Oh my gosh, I know your pain. I had a period for nearly 2 months. I was exhausted every day and slept as much as I could, do to blood loss. I had Anemia, because of this. Suddenly it stopped. For all of two-three days. My mother made me go to the doctor, just to have an awkward pelvic exam, sonogram, for them to just give me birth control. As soon as I got it, it stopped, but if you miss a day it comes right back. What the hell, nature?

I had the implanon and had my period for 11 months straight after trying multiple things and seeing different doctors had it taken out and bam everything was back to normal... Horrible year.
