Prom can be any time. My school in Australia finished in November, we had our 'prom' (we call it our formal) at the end of November. It all depends where you live and when your school year finishes.

Guys. I'm pretty sure when the proms/formals are depend on where you live. There isn't a worldwide 'month for proms'.
