Today, my roommate turned the thermostat down to 50 degrees. Why? Because she read that shivering burns calories. FML

FYL, I once read on the Internet, that everything on the Internet is true. BURN SOME CALORIES!

Being cold does burn more calories than being at a comfortable temperature. It also suppresses your immune system, which makes it easier for you to get sick, and being sick burns even MORE calories than being cold and healthy! Sure, catching every cold that comes along *could* lead to potentially life-threatening pneumonia, but just think of all the calories you'd burn before you died! I hear tuberculosis and cancer can have a similar effect- maybe your genius roommate should try one of those next! Or, she could just try a healthy diet and exercise like a normal, sane person. I've heard rumors that that works too...

I thought you ment 50 degrese Celsius and I'm thing dafuq

I think I lost 50 brain cells reading this. Are schools still existent? Where are the teachers giving kids these terrible spelling and grammar skills??

Ur roommate has an eating disorder, FYI, HER life sucks, and ur an I empathetic baby, she needs help.

That doesn't have to be the case, she might just want to lose some more weight or doesn't want to gain any, doesn't mean she's being unhealthy about it. Now stupid is a whole separate story.

Also, I can barely understand what the rest of your sentence says, but I'm getting the feeling you were implying that OP is being insensitive about this eating disorder deal. Even if there IS an eating disorder, that doesn't mean OP is being a jerk: people tend to hide self-harm. Besides, nobody needs to get frozen if someone has a problem.

It may or may not be part of an eating disorder, but whatever she's up to, she most certainly IS being unhealthy about it. It's obsessive, irrational and could even be considered a form of self-harm. I am a recovering anorexic myself. When I was sick, I compulsively engaged in countless stupid behaviors like this. I was terrified to give up any piece of my illusion of being in control. Starvation messes up your thinking in untold ways.

You can barely string a sentence together. What makes you think you know how to diagnose a eating disorder?

you know what has no caloris? crack. you never see a fat crackhead.

Tell her that slowly inserting a cactus into her anus burns 1000 calories for every minute she keeps it up there and clenches.
