oh well, at least you dont have alzheimer's
yeah, because having a potentially fatal disease while youre young is so much better than losing your memory at an old age...
Someone (^) really doesn't understand Alzheimer's Disease....
Alzheimer's? Terrible. Autoimmune disorders? terrible. comparing the two is stupid. its like going up to someone and saying "yeah you're paralyzed from the waist down but hey- you're not paralyzed completely!
I hope your doctors are wrong
Not to be a dick, but I hope they arn't. It's better to know the immune disorder, than to misdiagnose and treat the wrong illness, and it being fatal.
He's trying to say that he's hopes. OP doesn't actually have it
Tell her to go **** herself
Does she not understand the severity of this situation?
tell her its contagious.
I was diagnosed with a potentially fatal autoimmune disease when I was 13. Feel free to message me anytime OP
Maybe her way of coping is to crack jokes. Hang in there OP I'm sure she'll be by your side
That's fine if you're cracking jokes at your own expense to cope, but you don't do that for other people's issues. You can cause a lot of harm that way. Not everyone can see the humor in such a serious situation and it won't be helpful for them to hear it.
Your sister sounds like a jerk

My brother has ALPS (autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome). It's super rare and has a high fatality rate but as he got older, his body fought it off. Now he's healthy as a horse. Don't give up!
That's not easy to hear, especially from someone close. I hope you are going to be ok, OP and that you receive some better support.
