Oh my gosh. I hope you get well soon OP. That must be devastating to hear news like that. Your sister is probably in denial or something I hope, and not just being a jerk.
awwwh are you okay?
Can someone please explain to me why people said that OP deserved this? But besides that I'm so sorry.
The OP has an autoimmune disease, not AIDS. Two completely different things (autoimmune diseases are cases where their immune system attacks their own body; AIDS is caused by a virus attacking the immune system).
It's hard, many people don't understand chronic illness and blow it off cause we don't always look sick. Google the spoon theory. It's specific to lupus, but it makes sense to many chronic autoimmune diseases. It's helpful to read and to share with people. Be prepared to lose a lot of friends. Well not losing, you will find who your real friends are very quick. It sucks, but it will be ok. I've had 4 strokes an almost died from my autoimmune issues, but I'm still here. It's not easy, but you will manage.
Behcets and fibro sufferers have adopted the spoon theory also. Us spoonies have to stick together, especially when we look so damn good people can't believe we're ill (ha ha) XxX
Screw her, OP you can fight this! You don't need that kind of negativity in your life right now anyway.
you mean AIDS?
Prayers for your health and happiness, op!
Some people don't handle serious situations well that involve family members... Don't give up :)
What do you have? I'm only asking because I have an autoimmune disease, and I'm wondering if it's the same one. It makes it easier when you know there's someone out there who knows what you're going through

My brother has ALPS (autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome). It's super rare and has a high fatality rate but as he got older, his body fought it off. Now he's healthy as a horse. Don't give up!
That's not easy to hear, especially from someone close. I hope you are going to be ok, OP and that you receive some better support.
