I'm pretty sure it's common courtesy for the person whose birthday it is to have the first slice of their own cake, so I can see why your sister was jaded. However, that was a huge overreaction from her. I would have just waited until it was the offender's birthday and had the first slice of their cake. I guess you could have called that...just desserts.
