Today, I decided to work on my social anxiety by ordering some food. I waited in line, practicing my order in my head all the way. When I got to the front, I said my order with no mistakes. The cashier just stared blankly at me until I mumbled, "Never mind..." and left. FML

Today, my anxiety and depression were so bad that when I went to the post office and failed three times to parallel park, I promptly burst into tears, apologized, and drove off when a very nice lady offered to help. FML

Today, I took my 15 year old daughter driving. I yelled at her for not going safely around corners. On the way home, while demonstrating how to drive right, I went around a corner and hit a cement truck. FML

Today, I went to a Mexican restaurant with my family. I got stuck trying to decide whether I should get the fajitas or the tacos. I ended up getting the tacos because I didn't want the fajitas to come in sizzling, and I didn't want to "make a scene". My social anxiety has hit a new low. FML

Today, I went to a drive through with my housemate. She got our order wrong and angrily yelled at the teenager who handed us our food, making her cry. My housemate can't fully speak English because of a learning disability, and she refuses to admit it. FML

Today, I told my mom about the severe phobia I've developed towards driving. She was very supportive and even made me an appointment to see a psychologist. His office is two hours away. I have to drive to see my doctor about my fear of driving. FML

Maybe you guys could've gone inside to order instead so your daughter didn't have to clamber over seats? I'm sorry to hear. I have social anxiety too and I have a shit of a time trying to order things or ask store employees for help. Yours must be a hundred times worse if you struggle in a drive-thru. I hope you can get help. Your daughter is a sweetheart for doing that for you and she obviously cares and understands. Good luck, OP.

Why does it seem like every other person in the comment section has some sort of anxiety issue? Is this like a phenomenon with the newer generations/millennials or something? I just don't understand why a ton of people have terrible social skills nowadays.
