Today, my teacher gave me a 0% on my personal narrative in my writing class. His only comment on the whole paper was, "Too long, didn't read." FML

That's horrible, try taking this to the principal. It worked when my Spanish teacher did the exact same thing to me.

Was there a word/page limit? If so, YDI. If not, FYL.

Yeah show that paper to the principal and see how long this USELESS PRICK has a job.

Even if the OP did have a word limit, in my opinion the teacher should have explained why he wasn't accepting the paper or gave him another chance, instead of just being rude over a paper the OP probably spent a long time on

Part of being an educator is training your students to follow directions the first time they are given. If there was a limit, then the teacher should not have to give the OP another chance. We are there to teach, not to hold your hand.

I once was wrong with an opinion paper in college.

This is so funny, omg. This teacher needs to be fired ASAP!

I know that feeling OP, at least sorry of. I once wrote a three page summary for the myth of Eros and Psyche. I wasn't given a zero, but the teacher was baffled.

If you've been given a set page limit or word count and have blatantly blown it, YDI.

If there was a word or page limit, then you totally deserved it and should follow directions next time. If there wasn't a limit, then yeah, that professor sucks and you need to fight the grade.

So I'm assuming that there was no word count limit? I'm getting the vibe that you're missing some parts of the story. But based on the post, FYL

Was there a word/page limit on the assignment? Because that's what it all comes down to - if there was and you exceeded it, then he's justified. If there wasn't a limit, then he's wrong and you need to go to administration.

Also, to everyone demanding the teacher get fired - you realize it's incredibly difficult to fire a teacher, right? (Even if they're not tenured - and if they are, forget about it.) OP's teacher will NOT get fired over something as simple as this. It has to be some hardcore shit for that to happen.

I only ever read about teachers getting fired when they get a little too close to some of the cheerleaders :P.
