Today, my thighs started chafing 3 hours before the end of my work shift. Now they burn no matter what I do. I still have an 8-hour shift tomorrow and I can barely walk. To make it worse, my mom's only words of advice involved me losing weight so it "doesn't happen again". FML

I don’t know what your job is, but I wear mesh basketball shorts under my work pants whenever I might get chafing. (I’m a female in construction) And I disagree with the losing weight statement. It may help, but may or may not eliminate thighs that rub. Sometimes it’s anatomy. Good luck tho.

I love how half the comments assume people can't have naturally thick thighs and not be overweight. Different body types, people, we have them!

Been there before, I get a lot of chafing from jeans for some reason. Lanacane makes an anti-chafing cream that works well and can also help relieve a bit of the pain of chafing. It is more for prevention though, don't expect miracles in pain relief, also it hurts like a bitch to apply if you're already that chafed. They also make a version that offers more in relief and less in prevention, if you're that sore might be worth picking up both. I also like to use shapewear that goes down to mid-thigh-ish. Makes a nice barrier against rough denim seams and is nice and smooth itself so it doesn't cause it's own chafing or anything. Might not be as effective for guys but I'm sure there's something out there. Honestly, just anything that covers the thighs, has very little in the way of seams, and can be worn under jeans works well.

caldasene powders or corn starch will help.

put deodorant on your inner thighs to prevent it from happening again. sounds a little weird but I do it all the time works everytime

Use baby powder. My thighs chafe so I rub baby powder on the insides of both of them. It works like a charm :)

Try Gold Bond Friction Defense. Its a deodorant style bar, and it works really well. This stuff works really well. I'm overweight, and this issue happens to me sometimes in the height of the summer, but this stuff keeps the skin from becoming irritated, helps sooth it when it is already irritated, and is not greasy or oily.

If you're a dude, my first go-to would be wearing basketball shorts under your jeans/pants (or if you wear loose pants as a woman; no judgment here!). Otherwise, just lather up with vaseline before work. I use it all the time (I'm a fat dude) and it works wonders. Just make sure you're fully aware of where exactly is rubbing. For me, it hurts to walk but it's actually back toward the back of my thighs where they meet my butt that rubs.

Use deodorant between your thighs, it won’t burn and prevents chafing
