Today, my wallet got stolen. I had a bunch of cash, my SS card and my license in it. Now I have to replace everything, only to have to renew my license again when I turn 21 in June. FML

Today, my wallet got stolen. I don't have a photo ID to get a temporary debit card, and since I don't have a debit card, I can't go to the DMV to get a new license. FML

Today, I left my wallet on top of my car when I filled up with gas. I drove away and didn't realize it until I got home. I went back and found it on the side of the road. Empty of my credit cards, pictures and checks. All that was left was my driver's license. FML

Today, I went to the store to buy some groceries. Several hours later I realize that I can't find my wallet. After looking all over my house and then the store parking lot, I had my credit cards cancelled. On the drive home, I feel something under me. It was my wallet. FML

Today, I went to go get a new ID because my wallet was stolen, which had my social security card in it as well. I found out that to get your ID you have to have your social security card, and to get your social security card, you need your ID. FML

Today, I went to Walmart with all my birthday money, which I had in a wallet with my permit and everything else. I was sat on a bench looking for items for my iPod Touch However… I left my wallet behind. Turns out an old couple stole it. I got my shit jacked by grandparents. FML

Today, I realized that I'm on the top of not having my drivers license/ state ID (I was submitting my taxes and needed it) I also threw away my brand new passport because I thought it was trash in my boyfriends car. FML

Never carry your SS card - why would you do that? You need to sign up for identity protection, now and get it replaced which is a much larger pain in the ass them replacing a driver's license... especially since you can't since, you know, you lost your SS card.

You need to talk to identity theft experts and get some serious help, your SS card is the best way to steal your identity in a heartbeat, it's so easy when you have the name, number and signature right there. Why would you carry that around in a wallet? Keep that in a nailed down safe in your basement inside another safe inside a sealed off room you can't even get into. Seriously just remember the number and never touch the thing again

I would be far more worried about someone have my SS number opposed to replacing your ID.... You need to put it on file it was stolen. Protect yourself from having your identity stolen. That sucks though. I'm so sorry that happened.

You should have put your social security card in a bank safe. Keeping it in your wallet is a stupidly easy way to get your identity stolen.

in my state, you don't HAVE to renew it when you turn 21, just if you want the sideways style (your picture is vertical when you are under 21 and horizontal when you are 21 and over so its easier to tell when verifying age. it isn't mandatory to renew it when you turn 21 however. Just the expiration date.)
